FAQ

Stage areaQ: Are these concerts really in your house?
A: Yes. In our living room, to be exact.

Q: When did you start doing this?
A: In the spring of 2002.

Q: How did you get the idea to start hosting house concerts?
A: We attended a few house concerts and knew we would love to host some ourselves.

Q: How many people can you fit in for a performance?
A: We sell about 50 seats for each show.

Q: What percentage of the money from ticket sales goes to the performer?
A: 100%. We do not make any money from these concerts.

Q: How do I reserve a seat?
A: You can use a credit card or the PayPal link on our website. Or you can drop off or mail a check made out to “Dave Khanlian”. Or you can pay cash to one of us in person. We do not reserve seats without advance payment.

House concertQ: Are these BYOB events?
A: Yes.

Q: Are these pot-luck events?
A: Some folks bring finger food (cookies, veggies, chips, etc.) to share, but it’s not required or expected.

Q: Should we bring chairs?
A: Nope. We have plenty.

Q: Where should I park?
A: There’s plenty of street parking right on our block of Dawson Street.

Q: Do your neighbors mind that you do this?
A: No. They’re cool.

Albums & photosQ: How do you decide which artists to host for concerts?
A: We do this for fun so, basically, we book artists whose music we love.

Q: Do the artists sell CDs, records, t-shirts, etc?
A: Yes, unless they’re forgetful or already sold out.

Q: Do the artists hang out for photos, autographs, chatting, etc?
A: Yes.

Q: What if I bought tickets, but I cannot attend a show?
A: You can send someone in your place. We don’t do refunds or a waiting list. That’s too much trouble.

Q: My brother-in-law and his friend play guitar. They’re really good. They kind of sound like Eric Clapton. You should have them for a house concert.
A: Thanks for the suggestion.
